Amrita Raichand's Biography
Acting has been a key element and driver in my life. Growing up in a small town in Jamshedpur in the TATA township, where my late father was a young General Manager, I was continuously exposed to outdoor and extra-curricular activities added to which was a strong sense of discipline and values.
My schooling in Lawrence School, Sanawar was followed by me graduating from St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai. My family thought it would be best for me to enter the corporate world for which I would need additional educational qualifications and I therefore took up Marketing Management and Computer Graphics at a Post Graduate Level.
My acting instincts were a part of me right through my School and University. However this hobby got monetised during my second year at College. This came as a complete surprise as I was spotted while participating in a fashion show during “Malhar” and went on to become the new face of “Ponds Dream Fairness Cream”. I wanted to keep modelling as a hobby rather than a career but as time went on I realised that this is what I loved the most!! Soon, I became the Brand Ambassador for “Whirlpool Home Appliances”, from then on there was no looking back!!
My fondness for serious acting has led me to now explore all facets of my profession. Apart from ads and TV anchoring I’m currently playing one of the leads in a Teleserial for Yash Raj Films!! Would love to go a step further now and be a part of some great Cinema and if destiny is by my side, you all will soon see me in them!

* “Laxmi Narayana” - Played the role of Laxmi in the Dance Ballet for Doordarshan TV (2002)
* “Chitrangada” – Played the role of Chitrangada for Founder’s day in SANAWAR
* Won the All India Classical Dance competition held in Calcutta (2001)
* Headed the Event Team to manage “Malhar” (Annual show of St. Xavier’s College)
